A m o r s a l of fall & thoughts on art -- Leonardo da Vinci

The only terrible thing about painting leaves is that after a couple of hours the subjects start to shrivel up and die even more. This makes it SUPER hard to paint because the shadows look different, the placement becomes super different, and the shape of the individual leaf itself becomes so entirely different!
Despitre that factor of working with natural, living things ... I finished!
I felt very accomplished...
Of course I can see how to improve, but I ended up happy with the end result :)

I thought this quote was VERY applicable.
The fact of the matter is is that art is NEVER really finished, there is ALWAYS something more that you can work on, another thing that you can work on to improve... in the end art is only abandoned.
The only different between never finishing something and finishing a study of art is the artist has to decide to move on, he has to choose to abandon that study and move on to something else...while still incorporating the skill and lessons he has learned from the previous study.
